You open the project creation form in Safety Software by clicking New project. The screen is titled Add a new project and is used to collect the machine’s basic identification data and assign the correct manufacturer.
This is the first actual working form in the project workflow. The quality of the data entered here affects how clear the project list will be later, the accuracy of the documentation, and how easy the later risk assessment will be.
What you will see at the top of the form
At the top of the screen, the following are available:
- the Add a new project heading,
- the Back button to return to the previous screen,
- for accounts and tenants included in onboarding, an additional First project — tips panel.
The Save project button is at the bottom of the form, after all fields.
If onboarding is active for the account, you will see short tips above the form about the project name, machine model, manufacturer, and the next step after saving. This help block may not be visible on accounts where onboarding has already been completed or disabled.
Form layout
The form is arranged in a logical workflow order:
- First, you see the basic project and machine data.
- Next, you select a manufacturer or add a new one.
- Finally, you complete the descriptive fields related to intended use and reasonably foreseeable misuse.
These are not separate sections with visible headings on the screen, but one continuous form that leads from basic data to descriptive data.
Form fields
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Created by (full name) | Read-only field showing the author of the project being created | John Smith |
| Project/machine name | Main project or machine name; required field | Linia pakująca Example Ltd. |
| Machine model | Machine model or type | AP-500 |
| Serial/batch number pattern | Pattern for the serial or batch number | EXAMPLE-2026-* |
| Year of construction | Year the equipment was built; must be a valid number | 2026 |
| Manufacturer | Manufacturer assigned to the project; required field | Example Ltd. |
| Intended use | Description of the machine’s intended use | Automatyczne pakowanie wyrobów w kartony zbiorcze. |
| Reasonably foreseeable misuse | Description of reasonably foreseeable misuse | Ręczne sięganie do strefy roboczej podczas cyklu. |
Which fields are actually required
For the form to pass validation and be saved, you must correctly complete in particular:
- Project/machine name,
- Year of construction,
- Manufacturer.
The Machine model field is not technically required, but it is strongly worth completing right away. This makes the project easier to identify later in the project list, on the risk assessment screens, and in the final documentation.
How the manufacturer section works
The Manufacturer field is a drop-down list with the placeholder Select manufacturer.... You use it to select the manufacturer whose details should be linked to the project.
If the correct company is not yet on the list, next to the field you will find the Add a new manufacturer button. This is the fastest way to add a new manufacturer without leaving the project form.
Quickly add a new manufacturer
After you click the add manufacturer button, the Add manufacturer window opens.
In this window, you will see two fields:
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Manufacturer name; required field | Example Ltd. |
| Country | Manufacturer country; optional field | Poland |
Available actions in the window:
- Save and select - saves the manufacturer and automatically selects it in the project form,
- Cancel - closes the window without saving,
- Close - closes the window using the button in the header.
After a successful save, the new manufacturer is immediately added to the selection list and set as the active value in the Manufacturer field.
Most common validation messages
If you try to save the form with missing or invalid data, the system shows messages directly next to the relevant fields or in the upper part of the form.
The most important messages are:
- „Project name is required.”,
- „Manufacturer is required.”,
- „Invalid year of construction.”.
In practice, this means:
- a missing project name blocks saving,
- a missing manufacturer blocks saving,
- an invalid year of manufacture blocks saving.
Additional form safeguards
The form also includes system-side technical safeguards. If the form session is invalid or the same form is submitted again, you may see the following messages:
- „Invalid CSRF token.”,
- „This form has already been processed.”.
From the user’s perspective, one simple rule works best: after clicking Save project, wait calmly for the system to respond and do not manually refresh the page right away.
What to get right from the start
The safest way to complete the form is as follows:
- Enter a clear project name in Project/machine name.
- Complete Machine model, even if the system does not require it.
- Check that the year in Year of construction is correct.
- Select or add the correct manufacturer.
- Add at least a basic description in Intended use.
- If necessary, also complete Reasonably foreseeable misuse.
This way of working reduces the need for later project edits and speeds up the move to risk assessment.
What happens after saving
After clicking Save project, the system saves the project and moves to the next stage depending on the account status:
- on new accounts covered by onboarding, it usually takes the user straight to the risk assessment,
- on accounts outside onboarding, it may redirect to a view of the saved project.
If the project limit for your plan has already been reached, the system may instead display a general message, for example „Trial: you can create only 1 project (demo does not count). Upgrade to a paid plan to create more.” or „Project limit for your plan has been reached.”.
The details of the project list, statuses, and filtering are described in the next section 2.3 Project list.
